1. PTR International Certification For Teaching Essentials
Dates: December 8-10, 2010 (8am-5pm)
This on-court workshop demonstrates fundamental group teaching techniques. Details of the serve, forehand and backhand group lessons are demonstrated as part of a Standard Method of Instruction. Emphasis is placed on the development of biomechanically-sound strokes. The fundamentals of teaching group lessons will be presented. The workshop prepares PTR members for the five-part certification exam on Day 2 and 3. Participants will have the opportunity to "practice" teaching the strokes. This workshop is the industry leader in group-instruction and provides those who successfully pass the exam with an internationally recognized tennis teaching certification (PTR Manual & PTR Day-inner included).
2. Etcheberry Certification for Tennis (NEW!)
Date: December 10-11, 2010
For the first time, world famous fitness guru, Pat Etcheberry is offering a certification program to pass along his fitness, strength and conditioning philosophy and techniques to a new generation of coaches and trainers so that they can one day know the pride of teaching gifted athletes how to become Champions in their own right. PTR is proud to partner with Pat Etcheberry in offering an International Etcheberry Certification! Offered for the first time outside the US, participants will get a chance to work with Dr. Louie, a Etcheberry qualified clinician, in a 2-day course focusing on how to train your players and make them quicker, stronger, and better conditioned.
The Etcheberry Certification Program has only one level of certification and is designed for both tennis coaches and trainers. It consists of a two-day 10 hours that includes classroom presentations and in-gym and on-court workout sessions. To become an International PTR Etcheberry Certified coach, participants will have to take a written exam and also pass an on-court test demonstrating what they have learned.
